August 1st 2011
Today we started off the day with a great breakfast at the National Park Inn and everyone finished there entire meal. We then took a hike, it started off on the Longmire trail a short easy ¾'s of a mile hike that included hot springs, very large trees, and a beaver dam. Then we got on to the Rampart ridge trail that was a 2.9 mile trail that was very challenging it went 1,300 feet up the mountain with lots of switchbacks the first half of the trail was all up hill but the next part was mostly flat with a few ups and downs. This portion of the trail included steep, fast inclines, great views of Mt. Rainier, and Nasqulily river valley, and a forest, then that linked to a 2 mile section of the wonderland trail that was similar to the Rampart ridge trail but it all went down and that lead back to the National Park Inn. So the trail was around 5 miles and was very challenging on the steep incline. Once we got back to the National Park Inn and left Rainier. We stopped to have lunch at the Copper Creek Inn which was very good. We had a long drive to the ocean where we would stay before going to Olympic. We found out we booked the wrong night at the hotel, but found another place to stay which has great views of the ocean. It is super cold on the beach but it still looks nice.

Interesting Tid-bits
On the Mount Freemont trail we ran into some one who was born in Kalamazoo.
We haven't watched any TV the entire trip.
